Galeries Lafayette Haussmann

The large Galeries Mural taking the space of 5 walls and the ceiling above. Featuring the full expanse of the galleries inside the Lafayette mall in Paris. Ryan Andrade worked with me on this as my co-artist.

As the mural is entirely hand painted it took a combined 4000 hours over the course of 8 months to cover the full 2400 square feet with as much details as we could!

The mall will be best viewed from 3 standing points on opposite side of the dividing wall, along with the one in the centre. Numerus pipes needed to be hidden to create a seamless painting.

With this area being rather well lit it presented a unique problem. It would be impossible to use a projector as the lights hang directly above the walls washed out any detail. to get around this issue I had taken a photo from the preferred angle of viewing. Once done I overlaid the image and had a 3D model built in unreal replicating the space in a 1-1 format. We were able to test out the layout and print a grid in order to transfer the mural onto the wall
